The Contour Projector gives the collector a truly hidden light in every since of the term. The beam emanating from its lens cannot be seen from any angle of the room, regardless of the position of the viewer. Previous, more primitive equivalents produced a “spotlight” effect, with a beam of light clearly visible to the viewer and excessive spill light that often overpowered the canvas or sculpture. Even if the strip itself is not visible, wiring can slip out of wherever they are tucked away and ruin a showcase or display. Truly elegant display lighting and showcase lighting require a hidden source of illumination that not only conceals the strip, but also the electrical components used to power the strip.

Dark wood ceilings do not reflect light well and require higher levels of illumination compared to a white drywall ceiling, for example.
