Phantom Lighting announced that Mr. William Dietrich has joined the company's executive leadership team. Mr. Dietrich has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing and will spearhead the company’s accelerated marketing activities.

Mr. Dietrich leads Phantom Lighting's strategic business development initiatives and is responsible for identifying, contracting and supporting domestic and international Sales Agents, as well as developing emerging markets for Phantom's patented line of Xenon Linear Strip Lights and Fine Art Lighting products. Mr. Dietrich joins Phantom Lighting with extensive experience in Sales and Marketing management, including 14 years in Landscape Lighting Design. Prior to joining Phantom, he held various key leadership positions the Medical Imaging Equipment field and most recently served as Vice President of Vernon Daniel Associates, the premier Landscape Illumination company on the East Coast. Mr. Dietrich received his B.A. in Biology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

There are a number of things you should keep in mind when searching online through the seemingly endless number of shelf lighting options today’s market offers. Keeping a few rules of thumb in mind will not only help you select optical shelf lights for your particular display, but also lead you to the conclusion that efficiency and innovation are the keys to putting your collectibles, rare books, and even retail merchandise into a whole new, superior realm of impeccable light. LED Shelf lights should always evenly distribute illumination within the enclosed space of a bookshelf, display case, or specialty furniture piece. The light should never "spill" too far outward into the room. I live in Mexico and recently purchased a new painting that I plan to install over my living room sofa. I would like to light it properly without blinding my family or friends who might be sitting on the sofa. Do you have any suggestions of who to call in Mexico?

One of the best ways to control spill light on the sofa is by using a light fixture that has a focused light source. Framing projectors, like the Contour Projector, produce a high intensity beam of light that can be shaped to fit the contour of the object. This technique eliminates all the light around the art on the wall and the sofa below.

You could also install a MR16 low voltage adjustable halogen accent light mounted above the sofa and out of the field of view. From a steep aiming angle there will be some light on the wall around the art without bothering anyone sitting on the sofa.

I recently came across your website. WOW, you have some great pictures of your work. I collect fine art and want to use some of your Phantom Contour Projectors to illuminate my collection. Which model do you prefer?

All of our fine art projectors are built around a series of unique UL Approved housings. These aluminum housings allow you several mounting options when selecting the right one for your home. My favorite is the float finish housing which has a very custom and clean look. After the cover has been floated, textured and painted to match the ceiling, you can hardly see it. This is particularity helpful when a clean ceiling appearance is desired. The float finish model is one of our most popular.

PHANTOM STRIP LIGHTING SYSTEM can be installed in many different ways. For adjustable shelves, what you are looking for, the strip lighting system can be installed using two distinct wiring methods. The Phantom fixtures are the same, it is just the way the power is distributed to the individual shelves. The wiring method is so unique, that we were awarded a US Patent for the design and it carries an ETL Listing for safety and design. Here are links to both methods:

Both of these Phantom low voltage linear strip lighting systems are completely adjustable so that the shelves can we moved with to disconnect any wiring or the use of tools. If you were planning to paint or stain the cabinet I would go with the AE Series just to keep it simple. If you are using an exotic wood or just choose not to see the support brackets, I would go with the AE Series strip lights. Either way, you will love the results.

The AC Series is good for both new construction or remodel work. The AE Series, because of the concealed buss bar, is for new construction projects only. Please discuss both of these methods with your carpenter and he can explain to you the differences.
