One precision optical framing projector and five installation methods:
The Phantom Contour Projector FF Series (float finish or zero sight line) housing is used for custom applications when attic access is not available and a visable cover plate would be inappropriate for the ceiling finish.
The Phantom Contour Projector NC Series (new construction housing) is designed for installation between floors as shallow as 10 " deep when access is not available from above. The heavy duty housing and locking fixture bars are prefect for new homes or offices with dywall or plaster ceilings. The low profile cover plate may be painted to match the ceiling.
The Phantom Contour Projector RM Series (remodel housing), the first in the industry is specifically designed for installation between floors without damage to the ceiling and the low profile design will fit in joists as shallow as 10" deep. It has the same ceiling appearance as the new construction model when installed and may be painted to match the ceiling.
The Phantom Contour Projector TA Series (top access design) is perfect for custom applications that require a smooth ceiling appearance. This model is used when access from below is not practical or you want to minimize the ceiling penetration by performing a custom template installation similar to the Wendel technique. Attic access is required!
The Phantom Contour Projector SM Series (surface mount or track mount) is the most economical, easy to install framing projector for the illumination of art on the market today. The sleek design, precision optics and adjustable shutters make the Phantom Contour Projector perfect for homes, offices, art galleries and fine restaurants.

Each Phantom Projector comes with three different shutter assemblies that are specially designed to compliment a particular beam configuration by adjusting the light to follow the curvature of the lens. This allows for clean, straight lines, regardless of the aiming angle. Lighting large paintings may require two or more projectors. |
A Metal Slide is used on custom cut templates that contour the light to multiple or irregular objects such as lighting sculptures. To illuminate multiple objects on the same wall they must be installed in a collage format. We recommend that you consult factory for custom cut template installations. |
Phantom Contour Projectors feature ideal optics and photometric capabilities ideally suited to fine art lighting. These projectors feature halogen light fixtures and produce a very unique quality of luminance called “the lighted from within effect.” Phantom recessed picture lights are easy to install and extremely versatile, because of their small, compact size and small ceiling aperture. The Phantom Projector incorporates a parabolic aluminized reflector MR-16 75-watt halogen based lamp in its design compared to other projectors. These lamps were originally used for the fiber optic industry, where detailed light focusing is required. The typical rated life of this lamp is around 4000 hours, giving the enthusiast of exquisite paintings plenty of time to enjoy their precious piece, before having to replace the bulb.
