LED Kitchen Cabinet Lighting

Phantom low voltage lighting strips with incandescent, xenon or LED lamps provide a very attractive dimmable linear lighting source to accent and task lighting.LED Kitchen Cabinet Lighting has gone to an entirely new level of value-added function and superb aesthetic quality with Phantom Lighting’s latest generation of LED linear lighting festoon lamps.

These new lamps work with a wide range of linear fixture types and allow the homeowner or interior designer on retailer to impeccably illuminate the most sophisticated of kitchen cabinets with and equally sophisticated source of high-end lighting.

These new lamps are designed specifically for the many unique parameters that characterize kitchen under cabinet lighting.

Even more importantly, the new technology they feature directly speaks to challenges that were previously insurmountable by any source of light, including LED kitchen cabinet lighting.

When we talk about lighting kitchen cabinets, we need to be very clear about our definition.  Typically the term refers to in-cabinet lighting, not under cabinet lighting.  This lighting is far more decorative than functional in nature.  Whereas under cabinet lighting is needed to illuminate countertops for cooking related tasks, in-cabinet lighting is intended more for showcasing fine cookware and dinner ware behind the glass windows in cabinet doors.

This presents an immediate challenge to lighting such an interior—that of heat buildup.  Glass traps heat and temperatures rise very quickly when any kind of interior lights are left on.  This includes previous generations of LED kitchen under counter lighting lamps.  While these LEDs offered amazing savings in the form of reduced electrical costs, they still operated at more than 1 BTU per festoon and thus produced unwanted heat that quickly built up within the cabinet.

This meant that prior to Phantom’s release of its latest and greatest technology; LED kitchen cabinet lighting fixtures could only be operated for s short period of time at full power.  Dimmers could be used to reduce both voltage and heat, but this often diminished the aesthetics of the luminance as a side effect.

Now, luminance can be maintained and unwanted heat reduced with a new toppled LED design that combines six small bulbs into one LED festoon lamp operating at only .6 watt of power.

This is less than one BTU of heat—far too little to overheat the cabinet even when the lights are left on at full strength for long periods of time.

Phantom festoons operate best on our own linear lighting strips that are custom made to fit the interior dimensions of custom kitchen cabinets.  We have models for both new construction and post construction fitting, along with a wide range of trim options, glare shielding options, and adaptability to horizontal or vertical mounting applications.

However, many decorators rely on Phantom as a source of LED kitchen cabinet lighting lamps.

Due to their high degree of adaptability to any linear strip engineered to power festoon lamps, these lights can be placed in existing strip lights and immediately solve the problems of heat and high power consumption—without compounding cost through needless equipment purchases.

Color temperatures range from 5000K on the cool end of the scale, to the superbly warm, xenon imitation 2700K on the other end of the scale.  Any collection of fine china, plates, cups, or stainless steel can be beautifully showcased with a color temperature and light distribution pattern tailor made for your custom kitchen cabinets.
