LED Under Cabinet Light Fixtures

Ask your architect about lighting kitchen cabinets or using Phantom undercabinet lights for task lighting situations. Our low profile 24 volt lighting fixtures can be used in butlerWouldn’t it be nice to leave your lights on without having to worry about overheating your kitchen?  Well, with Phantom’s new generation of LED under cabinet lighting systems, you can do exactly that.

Historically, there has never been any solution to the problem of unwanted heat buildup posed by linear  festoon lighting.  Incandescent lamps and xenon lamps have operated at anywhere from 5-7 watts each.  Each watt equals one British Thermal Unit, so you can quickly see how a series of such lamps can quickly overheat an already very warm room in your home and drive both your comfort zone and AC cooling costs straight into the red.

LED under cabinet kitchen lighting helped reduce this with festoons that operated at less than 2 watts each, but the problem of heat was never completely solved.  Heat sinks still had to be used on the backs of the lamps, and dimmers often had to be used to turn down the intensity of the lights at certain times in order to cool them down.

Phantom has changed history with a leap forward in LED under cabinet lighting technology.

This new engineering stride features a modification of existing festoon toppled lamp design—but with far more sophistication and forward thinking involved.

The previous lamps used 3 LEDs that combined together to produce a lumen output equivalent to xenon in intensity.  (This was our old LED festoon lamp design, by the way.  Many competing models could not even approach the lumen output our lamps produced.)

With this new generation, however, there are some remarkable breakthroughs in technology that eliminate the problems associated with all previous types of light sources, and all previous generations of LEDs.

The most obvious of these is unwanted heat.  By using six smaller LED's, we reduce wattage and thus excess heat.

At the same time, combining light from six LEDs contained in each festoon lamp allows us to match the intensity of traditional incandescent sources like never before.

Low voltage display lighting technology allows the lights to also be dimmed—only you don’t have to do it this time to cool your kitchen off.  You can simply do it to make your kitchen look better.

The linear strips that house our lamps also offer decorators and discriminating homeowners the ability to match technology to the unique aesthetic demands that are found in every custom kitchen.

Each cabinet build out is typically very unique.  Each countertop is also highly customized and unique in both material build and color.

Phantom LED under counter lighting strips are designed to completely hide behind the forward edge of the cabinet and direct a gentle glow of light evenly and clearly across the countertop below.  The many trim options and glare shields we offer enable lighting angles to be precisely optimized for appropriate luminance and a minimization of reflective glare.

Our many different color temperatures, ranging from the super warm xenon equivalent of the 2700K to the ultra cool 5000K , take LED under cabinet lighting into the realm of the high end and ultra sophisticated—with only 10% the electricity used by incandescent equivalents.
