Phantom LED Under Cabinet Lighting
Phantom led under counter lighting fixtures are manufactured custom to the dimensions of the forward cabinet undersurface. Five different trim styles feature a variety of glare shield options that produce continuous lighting directed backward away from the eyes with a minimum of glare and spill light. This allows our product to be used to light very challenging reflective surfaces such as granite or marble countertops with noticeably better results than competing standard model linear strips and fluorescent fixtures can produce. The advantages of custom manufacture also allow builders and homeowners to choose everything from light source to color temperature so that our technology will approximate their own objectives hand in glove. All Phantom led under counter light fixtures are fully dimmable as well.
The evolution of our technology occurred in response to the many challenges presented by previous light sources. One of the biggest negatives associated with incandescent and xenon under counter lighting has always been excessive heat buildup. Hot lights under the cabinet can do more than create discomfort for the cook. They can significantly raise room temperatures and trigger HV/AC system into working overtime to cool off the kitchen. This can amount to considerable increased costs to the homeowner, who is already paying a great deal of money to cool one of the hottest rooms in the house. LED kitchen under counter lighting, by contrast, is by nature a more cool-burning light source. This is not to imply that the diodes it uses to produce light generate no heat at all—they do. However, the nature of diode light production allow for heat to be dissipated from an LED lamp in a way that cannot be done with incandescents. Heat sinks can be engineered to draw the heat away from the bulb as light travels outward along its intended trajectory. Although at the source level the light may not be technically heatless, from the human, experiential point of view it is. Room cooling costs can be significantly lowered with this technology, allowing the homeowner to get the most out of their kitchen 12 volt under cabinet lighting without having to pay an exorbitant cost in the process.
LED under cabinet lighting sysytems also gives you the ability to guarantee lower lighting costs to your clients they day they move into their home and begin using their new kitchen task lights. This guarantee is not derived from marketing or even from the engineering capabilities of an advanced fixture manufacturer like Phantom Lighting. Instead, it is derived from the scientific fact that LED bulbs use 60% less power than incandescent bulbs. The differential here can be used to predict with a high level of accuracy how much less it will cost to light a kitchen counter with LED low voltage under counter lights than it will to use incandescent or xenon. While this may not be of great concern to the wealthiest of custom home owners, there are other instances where lower energy costs in the kitchen may actually be a point of concern. If you are a design build contractor facing such a scenario, or a homeowner proactively looking to lower energy costs out of conscientious concern for the environment, then please understand the value added benefits of superior lighting with greater energy efficiency that is good for both the pocketbook and the environment.
Such value is even further magnified when we look at the actually quality generated by Phantom LED under counter or in cabinet lighting strips. Featuring a patented festoon lamp design that is found only in our product line, the 0.6 watt Phantom LED festoon lamp is capable of generating the same amount of light as a 5 watt Xenon lamp. Previous generations of LED bulbs were often criticized for a noticeably weaker light output. By overcoming this barrier, Phantom engineers have jumped a major hurdle, launching LED light sources into the world of luxury light sourcing. Color temperatures are equally robust as luminance output when it comes to our proprietary technology. The warm 2700K LED festoon lamp is a favorite among kitchen designers who want to approximate xenon’s color temperature as closely as possible. The 3500K LED lamp and 5000K LED festoon light bulbs are also available to those who either need or want a cooler color temperature.
