LED Cove Light
In the past, designers often opted against LED cove lighting fixtures because of its the lumens output and poor color rendering that plagued previous LED technology. With the introduction of Phantom LED festoon lamps, however, cove lighting has evolved to an entirely new level. Each festoon lamp is capable of emitting 45-50 lumens each, yet requires only 0.6 watts of power. The benefits to such wattage to output differential translate to value on multiple levels.
The most obvious of these is the ability of LED cove lighting to now effectively replace previous lamping technologies and offer builders, homeowners, and commercial property managers a more energy efficient, high end accent light source that uses only minimal amounts of power, generates negligible heat, and offers an exceptionally long lamp life that drives down the frequency and costs of lamp replacement.
Two factors in particular help make Phantom LED cove light fixtures more energy efficient than incandescent or xenon equivalents. The first of these factors is the nature of LED bulbs themselves. Generally speaking, LED light sources consistently use 80-90 percent less power than incandescent bulbs. Secondly, energy savings is further amplified by the unique design of the Phantom festoon lamp itself.
This low voltage source is built with six small LED light emitters that feature tight color binning and a CRI of approximately 80. The standard beam spread for festoons is 120 degrees, but for special cove lighting applications, 60 degree beam spreads can be custom manufactured in our Houston facility. Complete dimmability also helps to regulate energy costs by giving the end-user complete control over voltage levels and light output.
Another advantage our flexible cove lighting products offer over standard equivalents is a minimal heat output that allows these fixtures to operate for longer periods of time without raising room temperature and inflating cooling costs.
Only a small amount of heat—roughly equivalent to one-half that of a 1 watt incandescent— ever reaches the front of the lamp. Superior heat regulation, combined with the unusually long lifespan of LED in general, gives our LED festoon lamps a 50,000 hour average lamp life. This is more than twice that of xenon and approximately four times as long as incandescent.
This new generation of LED cove light now gives the interior decorator total freedom of design when it comes to choosing accent lighting to compliment room interiors and furnishings. A variety of color temperatures exist from which the interior designer can choose. Warm tone 2700K, warm white 3500K and cool white 5000K represent a full gamut of color temperature selectivity.
For decorators looking for the closest approximation to xenon, the warm 2700K offers a robust accent light source that can compliment any commercial or residential environment. Special lighting effects can be achieved through LED lamps for luxury lighting or eclectic interior decorating themes.
Phantom CM Series cove lighting fixtures are just as versatile and unique as our festoon lamping design. All fixtures are custom-built to client specifications. Three custom trim profile options are available for the architect or builder to choose from, and eight popular painted colors guarantee a seamless blend with surroundings. Each trim option can be field cut or notched to achieve a radius or irregular shape. CM series fixtures make ideal accent lights for domed foyers and serpentine ceilings.
