Public art projects managed by ELLIO Fine Art

ELLIO Fine Art manages several public art projects in the city. Funded by a private grant and working through contracts with the City of Houston. It implements the city’s vision and goals as well as privately funded special projects. It is overseen by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.

Managing several public art projects in Houston, ELLIO Fine Art also hosts the Color Box. Which is a gift drop through 2023. A special event in which boxes for gift collection are placed throughout the city during November and December. During this time, ELLIO Fine Art provides toys to local children.

Another Houston public art project that ELLIO Fine Art managed was a series of eleven collaborative installations called “Re: Vision”. The event took place in a warehouse in the East End of Houston. The warehouse served as a living space, studio, and exhibition venue for the artists. The artworks were made by Houston-area artists and musicians.

Lighting at ELLIO Fine Art

Lighting in the gallery was designed by Tom Kretzschmar, owner of Phantom Lighting Systems. Tom’s LED lighting design is perfect for showcasing revolving artwork on display in all shapes and sizes. ELLIO Fine Art has big plans

Located on Allen Parkway, ELLIO Fine Art boasts a whopping 1,500 square feet of exhibition space. The gallery has a roster of local and international artists and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. Among its current offerings are a solo show by Houston artist John Pavlicek, a group show featuring the works of Houston’s top-notch illustrators, and a collection of the most interesting pieces of local pottery. The gallery also offers private tours.

There are many reasons to drop by ELLIO, and it’s no secret that owner Trish Matute has a passion for the arts. For example, she was involved in a project to transform a historic theater into a gleaming art gallery. She teamed up with a pro bono branding agency to make it happen. She found the perfect home in a palatial 100-year-old building that was once the home to the Children’s Museum. It’s not surprising then that ELLIO has big plans for the future. During the holiday season, the gallery hosts a holiday gift-giving philanthropy event. This event benefits Project Row House, a nonprofit organization that supports the homeless.
