The technology behind advanced art fixtures may be highly complex, but the installation instructions for framing projectors are not. Of course, this is not the case with every manufacturer’s art fixtures, but Phantom designs its fixtures to be as minimalistic and simple as possible so that they can be placed by anyone. As installers ourselves, we understand how to make the process more efficient, starting at the manufacturing level. This simplicity does not affect the fixture’s capabilities or power in any way. On the contrary, Phantom’s art fixtures are among the most powerful and versatile available on the market.
Phantom has made its lighting installation instructions so simple that even a novice can complete the job in a single afternoon. All that’s typically needed for the job is a ladder, screwdriver, a drywall saw, a in some cases a putty knife and paint. No heavy duty or commercial quality equipment is required, and as long as an installer is comfortable running wiring, everything will come intuitively. This is because we have designed our projectors with a focus on usability, because not every homeowner wants to wait on a crew to do the job for them. Keep in mind it’s always best to consult or work with a licensed electrician.
Although casual observers would never suspect it, the Phantom Contour is fully adjustable and removable for cleaning and maintenance. This is thanks to its unique universal rotating ring and fully adjustable mounting cradle. Installation is relatively simple, and Phantom lighting agents are available to assist in the process if needed.
Phantom projectors come with lighting installation instructions, and no part of the process should be difficult to grasp. While the Surface Mount (SML) series is mounted to the ceiling directly, most of our optical framing projectors will need to be placed inside the ceiling. After a homeowner decides on the best place for the projector, they will need to cut out a hole for the housing and fish the wire through the space. The housing is secured inside the ceiling using wooden supports, mounting bars attached to joists, or with nylon retainers.
Once the projector housing is secured, the wiring is directed to the junction box and the housing is attached to the rotator assembly. By now, all of the essential components have been placed, but it is recommended that the homeowner adjust the projector to produce the right spread of illumination and place custom trim to keep the projector out of sight. This is just a cursory introduction to placing one of our projectors. We ensure that every homeowner is taken care of during the setup process, and our experts can help resolve nearly any issue a homeowner may run into.

Our linear LED lighting systems come with installation instructions based on the mounting application. Because Phantom sends out finished products – LED tape pre-mounted within the chosen trim profile, already cut to the desired sizes – it takes the guess-work out of the installation process. Please keep in mind that the adjustable concealed series is more complex overall and requires more collaboration with the cabinet builder or woodworking team.
