Contour Projector Lights Art Displays Instead Of A Whole Room

Contour Projector Lights

Contour Projector Lights

Contour projector lights can produce amazing results when lighting art displays.  These technologically impressive optical framing projectors are the best lighting option available for presenting artistic pieces like paintings or sculptures. This is because contour framing projectors can be adjusted to fit the profile of any subject perfectly. This may not seem like a big deal, but preventing spill light or shadows evokes a powerful illusion, making the piece seem like it is lit from within. This subtle, warm glow breathes life into the subject and can entrance an observer. In short, the effect has to be seen to be believed.

Fortunately, Phantom Lighting offers a range of devices that can fit any venue or setting. In general, a contour projector is built into the ceiling and is hidden from view using a cover plate. When the contour projector lights are not in operation, the cover plate lies flat against the ceiling. Once switched on, the cover plate descends slightly and opens a small aperture for the fixture. Even when switched on, the contour projector lights maintain an extremely low profile, which enhances the effect. Many observers won’t be able to tell where the light is coming from because the illumination is soft and the device is hidden from view.

Phantom has five different models of contour projector lights available, all of them designed slightly differently to accommodate particular settings. The NC Series framing projector (new construction) and RM Series framing projector (remodel housing) are the most compact units available and are built for ceilings that are shallow, which is common in newer buildings. The TA (top access) series is designed for settings where only ceiling access is feasible. The FF Series projector (float finish) series is installed flush with the ceiling and blends in completely when painted to match its surroundings. The SM Series projector (surface mount) series is an exposed fixture and is not shielded with a cover plate. It is the most economical contour projector available.

Early model halogen contour projectors can now be converted to LED using our LED Conversion Kit. This is not a simple lamp change, but a major upgrade that improves light levels, energy efficiency and overall performance. The conversion process involves changing the electrical power supply, updating the optical system and installing a high output LED light engine for maintenance free operation. The unique tri-dimming driver is compatible with forward phase (MLV), reverse phase (ELV) and 0-10V dimming. Phantom lighting is compatible with most lighting control systems and wall box dimmers.
